You may have friends you have known for twenty years who still do not know how you are actually doing. You talk about work, sports, the kids, and whatever needs sorting out, then answer good, busy when anyone asks about you. Your life is full, but there may be things you need to say and no one you say them to. Open Circle is a free two-hour gathering on Zoom, held on the first Saturday morning of each month.
I run a circle of men who have been doing this together for years. Once a month, I open it to men who want to sit with us for one Saturday morning.
Nobody tries to fix anybody. You do not need the right words, and you will not be asked to perform. You can listen for the whole two hours if that is what feels right.
This is not a course and not a workshop. There is no curriculum. Nothing is for sale, and nobody will chase you afterward. Some of the men in the room come from CORE, the year-round community I run. Nobody will pitch you on it.
Everyone checks in the same way, whether this is your first morning or you have been sitting with us for years.
This is for a man who has people around him but rarely tells them how he is actually doing. Maybe you are the one everyone counts on, and you do not tell anyone when you are tired or worried. You may never have been in a men's group and may have no interest in joining one.
You do not need experience with men's groups or therapy. You can come once and decide for yourself whether you ever want to come again.
